Local Pension Board - Vacancy for Deferred Members' representative

Printer-friendly versionOn 1 April 2015, Wirral Council created the Local Pension Board to ensure that the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) is well managed and representative at a local level.
There is currently a vacancy for the position of Deferred Members’ representative, to which we are inviting expressions of interest from suitably qualified deferred members.
Key features of the Local Pension Board (“the Board”) are:

to play an oversight role on the decision-making function of Pension Committee, with the key role in ensuring that MPF is complying with the LPGS and other relevant regulations

that it will be representative and will contain four member representatives, four employer representatives and one non-voting independent Chair

for meetings to take place at least four times per year in Liverpool and members of the Board should be willing to undertake induction and training sessions as required

for member and employer representatives to receive a modest remuneration along with any travel and subsistence expenses.

What type of person are we looking for?
You must be a deferred member with Merseyside Pension Fund to qualify as a Deferred Members' representative.
We are looking for a person who can demonstrate the criteria, characteristics and skills outlined in the Role/Person Specification at: mpfund.uk/lpbspec
This role will involve reviewing the financial aspects of pension fund management, including investment elements, and it is desirable to appoint a person who can bring an appropriate level of knowledge with them.
