The Fund has published its annual newsletter for LGPS pensioners, ‘The Honeypot’. This issue's leading article describes the 3.8% increase to local government pensions from 6 April 2026. A printed copy of this newsletter will be posted to pensioners shortly.

The Government has confirmed that local government pensions will rise by 3.8% from 6 April 2026. Local government pensions are increased each year in line with the cost of living to retain their spending power.

Merseyside Pension Fund is inviting expressions of interest from suitably qualified and experienced individuals, to act as a Local Pension Board representative for Active Members.

New 2026/2027 employee pay bands and contribution rates will operate in the LGPS from 1 April 2026.

Merseyside Pension Fund is pleased to confirm that it has retained its status as a signatory to the UK Stewardship Code, following the Financial Reporting Council’s announcement of the final cohort reporting under the 2020 Code.

On Tuesday 27 January 2026, Merseyside Pension Fund will launch a new and improved version of its secure online service, MyPension.

In 2026 your local government pension will continue to be paid no later than the 10th of each month by Merseyside Pension Fund.
