Why have I not received this month's pension payment?

The most common cause of this is due to the fund receiving returned mail from the address we hold on file.

Write to us with your new address and we will be able to reinstate your pension payments.

Why has my tax gone up?

If you have recently started to receive your state pension, HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) will adjust your tax code with ourselves as your state pension forms part of your taxable income however they are unable to deduct tax from your state pension.

If you have any other incomes this will affect the amount of tax you are due to pay on your pension.

If you have any further tax queries please contact HMRC directly on 0300 200 3300.

How much will my pension increase this year?

Each April your local government pension is increased to ensure that it maintains its spending power in line with the rise in the cost of living. The amount of your pension increase is set by HM Treasury under the Pension (Increase) Act 1971.

You can read more information about this year’s pension increase here.

How can I change where my pension is paid each month?

We receive a lot of telephone calls from pensioners wishing to inform us about a change of bank or building society details. Unfortunately, for security reasons, we cannot make a change to your details from information provided over the telephone.

You must report a change of bank or building society in one of the two ways described here.
