Career Average Pay

Career average pay is the pay for each year or part year ending 31 March adjusted (other than the final years pay) by the change in the cost of living, as measured by the appropriate index(es), between the end of the relevant year and the last day of the month in which the councillor member’s active membership of the Scheme ends.
 
The aggregate of each years revalued pay is then divided by the total number of years and part years to arrive at the career average pay. This is the figure used to calculate your pension benefits.
