Merseyside Pension Fund will be closed from 3pm on Wednesday 24 December 2014 to 9am on Monday 5 January 2015.
The latest issue of our annual newsletter for LGPS pensioners, ‘The Honeypot’, has been published. This edition’s lead article focuses on the expected increase to local government pensions from April 2015.
We are delighted to launch our new-look website. We encourage you to look around and get familiar with the new layout which aims to make it easier for you to find what you are looking for.
Annual Benefit Statements are currently being printed for those employees who were active members of the LGPS as at 31 March 2014.
It is expected that these statements will be posted to members' home addresses during the week commencing 29 September 2014.
Annual Benefit Statements, together with a copy of ‘The Hive’ newsletter, will start arriving very shortly for those with a deferred membership of the LGPS as at 31 March 2014.
Those who left the Scheme after 31 March 2014 should receive their first Deferred Members' Benefit Statement in 2015.
Registered users of our online service, 'My Pension', can view a copy of their 2014 Deferred Benefit Statement now. If you would like to register to use 'My Pension' for the first time, please click here.
Unfortunately, the Fund has temporarily withdrawn the facility by which registered users of the ‘My Pension’ service can perform pension forecasts.
The latest issue of our newsletter for active members of the LGPS, ‘Beeline’, has been published. It includes full details about the new Local Government Pension Scheme which launched on 1 April 2014.
The Fund actuary, Mercer, has published its funding report after conducting the triennial valuation of the Fund as at 31 March 2013.

The Government has confirmed that local government pensions will rise by 2.7% from April. This increase is in line with last September’s inflation figure, as measured by the Consumer Prices Index (CPI).
