Merseyside Pension Fund is hosting four live online events for Active and Deferred members of the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) in September.
In accordance with Regulation 2(3) of the Local Government Pension Scheme Regulations 2013 and following guidance received from the Secretary of State, we can now confirm that the early retirement factors have been updated with effect from 1 August 2026 and will be applied to benefits taken voluntarily before Normal Pension Age.
The Government has introduced changes to the LGPS to make the Scheme fairer for all members. Most changes took effect from 1 April 2026, and some improvements apply retrospectively.
Merseyside Pension Fund is pleased to confirm that it has retained its status as a signatory to the UK Stewardship Code, following the Financial Reporting Council’s announcement of the final cohort reporting under the 2020 Code.
