If you are a Deferred member aged 55 or over, you can now complete a new webform to express your interest in drawing your deferred benefits (except on grounds of ill health, where you must contact your former employer).
When you complete the form, you will be expressing your interest in obtaining the value of your benefits rather than committing to put them into payment.

A change to the LGPS rules has been made which means that deferred members aged 55 and over who left the LGPS before 1 April 1998, no longer have to leave all local government employment to be able to draw their deferred benefits.

A change to the LGPS rules has been made to provide that survivor's benefits payable to a same-sex spouse or a registered civil partner are equal those paid to the widow of a male member.

Merseyside Pension Fund has confirmed that it has invested £400 million in a new All World Equity Climate Balanced Multi-Factor Index Sub-Fund.
In accordance with Regulation 2(3) of the Local Government Pension Scheme Regulations 2013 and following guidance received from the Secretary of State we can now confirm that the early retirement factors have been updated with effect from 8 January 2019 and will be applied to benefits taken voluntarily before Normal Pension Age.
