Registering for 'MyPension'

From 2016, annual benefit statements will no longer be posted to members’ home addresses. Instead, at the end of August 2016, registered users of Merseyside Pension Fund’s 'MyPension' service, will be able to view their 2016 annual benefit statement online.

The Guides to the LGPS are updated

Merseyside Pension Fund has published updated versions of its main information guides for members of the Local Government Pension Scheme.

The guides have been updated to reflect; the 'Ending of contracting out', changes to automatic enrolment, changes to the lifetime and annual allowances and the change to the APC limit from 1 April 2016

The New State Pension and National Insurance changes from 6 April 2016

Merseyside Pension Fund will shortly write to the home addresses of all active members of the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) who will reach State Pension Age after 5 April 2016, describing how the new single-tier State Pension will replace the basic and additional State Pension from 6 April 2016.

Member contribution pay bands and contribution rates won't be altered in April 2016

The government has confirmed that the employee contribution banding table for the 2016/2017 won't alter from that in operation in 2015/2016.

Consequently, the pay bands for each of the nine contribution rates which applied in the main and 50/50 sections of the LGPS between 1 April 2015 and 31 March 2016, will continue to operate between 1 April 2016 and 31 March 2017.
