Why has my tax gone up?

If you have recently started to receive your state pension, HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) will adjust your tax code with ourselves as your state pension forms part of your taxable income however they are unable to deduct tax from your state pension.

If you have any other incomes this will affect the amount of tax you are due to pay on your pension.
