Investment Strategy Statement
The Investment Strategy Statement was approved by the Pension Committee of Wirral Council (constituting the primary governing and decision-making body of the Merseyside Pension Fund) at its meeting on 21 March 2017.
The Statement has been prepared in accordance with Regulation 7(1) of The Local Government Pension Scheme (Management and Investment of Funds) Regulations 2016 (SI 2016 No. 946).
The statement describes the high-level principles governing the investment decision-making and management of Merseyside Pension Fund (MPF) and the policy that has been developed to ensure their implementation.
It has been prepared in line with the new Local Government Pension Scheme (Management and Investment of Funds) Regulations 2016 (the “Regulations”) issued by The Department for Local Government and Communities (DCLG) and the accompanying guidance in relation to the requirement for administering authorities to prepare and maintain an Investment Strategy Statement, which must be in place no later than 1 April 2017.
