From 1 April 2014, the LGPS is not available to councillors and elected mayors of an English county council, district council or a London borough council, except if they were a member of the Scheme on 31 March 2014.

 

In such cases they remained a member of the LGPS until the end of their term of office (or age 75 if earlier).
