the day you reach age 22 provided you are earning more than £10,000 (2020/21 figure) a year in the job, or

the beginning of the pay period in which you first earn more than £10,000 (2020/21 figure) in the job, on an annualised basis, provided you are aged 22 or more and under State Pension Age [1] at that time.
