Your Pension Payslips & P60 End of Tax Year Certificate

Merseyside Pension Fund will no longer post a payslip to your home address in April each year. Like all public sector organisations, the Fund must streamline its costs to ensure that services to members are cost-effective.

This includes making use of electronic technology to share information. This means that you will be able to view your payslip for April 2020 and all other months, by using our secure online service, ‘MyPension’. ‘MyPension’ allows registered users to view data from their payslips and P60s online, as well as updating personal information such as home address, email address and telephone number.

Merseyside Pension Fund will however continue to post a payslip to your home address each May. May’s payslip will give details of the first full month of your 2020 pension increase. Your payslip will be posted to your home address before your payday of Thursday 7 May 2020 (the day before the VE Day bank holiday). Everyone who receives a pension in the Tax Year which ended on 5 April 2020, will see a P60 certificate making up the lower half of their May 2020 payslip.

The P60 will be a summary of your pension and tax details for the 2019/2020 Tax Year.

Please keep this certificate safe as other organisations often ask to see it as a proof of income if you make a claim for benefits or claim a tax refund.

We are unable to provide you with a duplicate copy if your original P60 goes astray. We do receive a large number of queries from pensioners about their tax codes.

Unfortunately, we are unable to explain why HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) has set or amended your tax code to a particular level. In the first instance, these queries should be made to HMRC. You can call HMRC on 0300 200 3300. You should have your National Insurance number available and quote the Tax Reference 428/M1.

Your P60 End of Tax Year Certificate

In May, Merseyside Pension Fund will post a P60 certificate to everyone who received a pension in the Tax Year 2018/2019.

The P60 is a summary of your pension and tax details for the Tax Year 2018/2019 which ends on 5 April 2019 and will make up the lower half of your May 2019 pension payslip.

Please keep this certificate safe, as other organisations often ask to see it as a proof of income if you make a claim for benefits. We are unable to provide you with a duplicate copy if your original P60 goes astray.
