DEATH OF A FORMER COUNCILLOR ON PENSION
If you die after retiring on pension, your benefits will no longer be payable. Your widow, widower, civil partner, next-of-kin or person dealing with your Estate must immediately inform the Fund of your date of death as otherwise an overpayment could occur.
The following benefits may then be payable:
- A lump sum death grant
- An ongoing survivor's pension for your husband, wife, or registered civil partner
- Children's pensions for your eligible children
