If you die while a deferred member of the Scheme, your widow, widower, civil partner, nominated cohabiting partner, next-of-kin or person dealing with your Estate must immediately inform the Fund.
What benefits could be paid if I die as a deferred member?
In these circumstances, the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) ensures that your family is supported. It provides:
- a lump sum death grant
- an ongoing survivor's pension for your husband, wife, civil partner or nominated cohabiting partner
- children's pensions for your eligible children
